PALM SPRINGS, Calif – The Palm Springs POWER move to 18-1 on the season with a come-from-behind victory over the visiting Inland Valley Legends ending at 5-4. It was California Baptist University product Seth Mattox who was given the rock to start the game for the POWER. Seth Mattox, did, however, give up 3 runs to the productive Inland Valley Legends offense. Mattox went for 5 complete innings, Striking out 10 and allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Two-way player Michael Groves, out of the University of North Carolina-Ashville, was brought in in the 6th inning of play as a relief effort and was able to do just that. The Legends were able to muster 4 runs on 9 hits and were kept at bay by the POWER bullpen. On the offensive side, the POWER were able to find their stride in the mid to late innings, and it was the University of Saint Katherine’s infielder who was brought around as the first run to get the rally kicked off for the POWER and then 4 more were soon to follow. Some big hits from players such as Dom Hughes (Kansas State University) who hit an incredible triple as well as a double to get the dugout alive and moving. Kohl Abrams (University of North Carolina-Ashville) had an RBI double and swiped second after getting a great jump off of first. The POWER will be back at Palm Springs Stadium on Saturday, July 1st as they take on the Inland Valley Legends in the final game of the 2-game series! We hope to see you there!!!
