PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Palm Springs Power avoided a hangover after their record breaking 18 game winning streak with an 11-7 victory over the Inland Valley Bucs. The Power trailed after five innings, but found their way in the sixth inning, scoring five runs.

Jacob Talamante’s presence was felt at the plate as he went 2-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Delta State phenom, Brett Young also contributed going 3-5, scoring two runs and stealing two bases. Young leads the team in stolen bases, now with a total of 15.

After a slow start on the mound, Josh Candau came in as a reliever to throw a gem. Through 4 innings pitched, he gave up only 2 hits, no runs and recorded seven strikeouts.

The Power are back in action tomorrow for game two of this three game series against the Bucs on Kids Day where children 12 and under get in for just $2. It is also First Responders Night at the ballpark which will feature a fire fighter vs. police department homerun derby faceoff.
