The Palm Spring Power were able to notch out their 21st win of the season as they were able to dismantle the San Diego Grind 7-2.  It was a good day on the bats as the Power were able to put 10-hits on the board as well as having some star-studded performances by the Power bullpen.  All thanks to work by Player of the Game Bryant Ball, and some good pitching by Dorsey Chatham out of the pen.

It was a slow start for both teams early in the game, as the starter for the Power, Miles Halligan, was only able to go 3 full innings of work.  Not a bad start whatsoever, but it was a slow start for what we have seen in the past for Halligan, giving up 2 runs and only coming up with 2-strikeouts.  Dorsey Chatham came in the 4th inning, and was able to come up with 4 perfect innings, not letting one runner on base.  Bryant Ball was the man of the hour tonight, coming back after being day-by-day for the past few games with a hand injury, and was able to come thru with a 2-3 outing tonight with a couple of RBI’s and getting on base all but one time.  The one time being a Fielder’s Choice put out with an RBI.  Julian Orozco and Kenneth Schecter were able to come in the 8th and 9th inning to close things out and give the Power their 10th win in a row, and their overall 21st win of the season, whichofficially gave the Power a clinch into the 1st seed of the upcoming playoffs.

The Power will have the night off tomorrow and will be back at Palm Spring Stadium to take on the Inland Valley Buccaneers.  They will be looking for their 22nd win of the season and hoping to extend their winning streak again.  Seth Mattox is the likely to start for the Power, currently pitching an ERA of 1.73 and is the current leader in strikeouts for the team with 36.  Game time will be at 7:00 PM at Palm Spring Stadium, with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
