The POWER move to 10-0 on the season!

The Palm Springs POWER move to 10-0 on the season with a 6-2 win over the Inland Valley Pirates. It was the POWER pitching staff that helped drive their team to victory. New Mexico Lobos arm Jacob Stramiska was given the rock to start the game for the POWER. He was able to get through 3 complete innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs to the visiting Inland Valley Pirates. However, it was Kansas State pitcher, and former Mizzou Tiger, Trae Robertson, who was able to shut down the Pirate’s offense, going 5 complete innings and cashing in 9 strikeouts without allowing a single hit. We also saw an appearance from Kenny Schecter, the freshman arm from College of the Desert, who was brought in to close things out in the 9th. He faced 3 batters and earned himself 2 strikeouts. The POWER pitching staff was able to record 14 strikeouts total on the night and only allowed 4 hits through all 9 innings. The bats came alive in the 4th inning, driving 4 runs across. The rally was started by a huge double from UNC-Asheville Michael Groves. Following the hit from Groves, it was the 4 through the 8 hole in the lineup who were all brought around to score. It was a great defensive night for the POWER, some fantastic throws across the diamond from Jason Leon and Tyler Preece. It was the Brigham Young University outfielder Tate Gambill who made an incredible throw from deep left to earn his team an out at the plate and prevent a run from scoring. The POWER will be back at the beautiful Palm Springs Stadium this Friday on June 16th for a matchup against the Long Beach Legends at 7:00pm. We’d love to see you there, however if you can’t make it, all of our POWER baseball games are livestreamed on Youtube! Find the link on our website!
