Palm Springs, Calif. ~ The Palm Springs Power looked for their third straight win at home on Sunday night against the OC Riptide.

Delta State junior Seth Hougesen started on the mound for the Power and allowed just two runs on five hits over 5 complete innings, and delivered five strikeouts. Jake Dahle, a freshman at the University of Utah, came in to relieve for Hougesen in the sixth and struck out four over three scoreless innings.

Right fielder Izayah Alvarez smoked a triple into deep right-center field in the bottom of the second inning for the Power’s first of three triples on the night.

Shortstop Landen Barns went 2-for-4 against the Riptide, knocking a single and another triple for the Power.

Josh Prizina smacked the third triple deep off the centerfield wall in the bottom of the fourth inning. Matt Green scored him with an RBI sac fly into right on the next pitch to put the Power up 4-2.

Green ripped a shot down the line with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th to score two runners and put the Power up 6-2, recording his second and third RBIs of the night and all but securing the home victory.

Darin May came to close in the ninth to finish out a 7-3 victory for Palm Springs, their third consecutive win to start the season.

The Power look for four in a row on Tuesday night as they take on the OC Pirates at home. Come out to Palm Springs Stadium to cheer them on at 7:05PM, gates open at 6:05!
