PALM SPRINGS, Calif. ~ The Palm Springs POWER tripped to San Diego this Friday afternoon for the first of a three-game SCCBL Championship series with the Force. Steve Boscia started on the mound for the POWER and tossed eight complete innings (3 R, 3 BB, 4 K), scoreless for the first seven and two-thirds. Darin May came in to close in the ninth and held off a couple in scoring position to secure an 8-5 POWER victory.

After nursing a 3-0 lead for most of the ballgame, the opportunity arose for a game-breaker from Matt Green in the top of the seventh. With two gone and bases loaded, Green smoked a bases-clearing double to the warning track in straightaway center to give the POWER a 6-0 lead and ultimately secure their three-run victory in the end.

The POWER return to Palm Springs Stadium tomorrow with a look at theirĀ ninth SCCBL crown with a home victory! You will not want to miss the action, so join us for a 7:05 PM first pitch to cheer on your POWER!
