Tonight, the POWER were able to etch their 22nd win on the season with a 4-0 win over the Inland Valley Bucs. A fantastic pitching outing from the starter out of California Baptist University, Seth Mattox is what carried the POWER to their win. Mattox only allowed 2 hits and did not give up a run in his 5 complete innings of work. He was able to claim 5 strikeouts and kept runners mostly off base. Matt Porter out of Pittsburgh University, had a fantastic night on the mound in relief, going 2 complete innings and striking out 3 for the POWER defense.  Then, it was the two way player Michael Groves out of the University of North Carolina-Asheville who was brought in to shut the door. Groves went 2 complete innings and sitting 5 of the Bucs bats down via the strikeout. The bats were alive for the POWER tonight. It was the catcher out of Brigham Young University, Bryant Ball who was a main factor in the offensive effort. Going 3-4 with 3 RBI’s. Noah Blythe out of Antelope Valley was also finding his stride at the plate, going 2-4 with a very hard hit Triple and was able to come around to score. The POWER will be back for game 2 of the weekend series with the Inland Valley Bucs at 7pm at the beautiful Palm Springs Stadium. We hope to see you there!
