Palm Springs, Calif.- In tonight’s matchup against the Southern Nevada Bulls, the POWER took it to them as they scored 8 runs off of 10 hits to win the ball game 8-4.

The starting pitcher for the POWER was CJ Broussard. Tonight was CJ’s first start for the POWER and he did a superb job on the bump going 5.0 innings, giving up seven hits and only allowing one run. Broussard is normally a reliever but showed today why he can crack the starting rotation. The relief pitching was also outstanding tonight, with Jordan Wood, Morgan Earman, Josh Tedeschi and Gabe Gentner coming in and shutting down the Bulls’ bats only allowing three runs in four runs innings of relief to seal the deal.

The POWER bats went off tonight with their 10 hits coming from all around the lineup. Ryan Mota finished his night 3-4 with a couple singles, a stolen base, 2 RBI and a solo homerun in the 5th.  Bourbon also showed up offensively as he was 2-4 with 2 RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored.

The POWER were aggressive as always on the base paths tacking on six more stolen bases in tonight’s game. That makes 38 stolen bases in 9 games.

Palm Springs POWER broadcaster Alex Gratys caught up with Ryan Mota after the game and was asked if he could catch Willie Bourbon and his two homeruns. Mota said that anyone could break that record on this team.

The POWER improved to 9-1 on the year and will be back in action on Friday night as they take on the FBA Sharks starting at 7:05pm.
