PALM SPRINGS, CA- A complete, team effort lifted the POWER to a 14-2 win over the SF Seals on Saturday night at Palm Springs Stadium.
Kyle Murray (Hofstra) started on the mound for the POWER and tossed six solid innings only giving up an unearned run in the third frame.
Nick King (Georgia), Ino Patron (Long Beach State), and Jordan Zimmerman (Mesa CC) led the way offensively for the POWER.
King, who reached base three times in last night’s game, was on base four times tonight. His bunt single to lead off the game set the tone for the POWER. Jordan Zimmerman’s RBI groundout scored King with the game’s first run.
Zimmerman drove in two more runs in a five-run fourth inning to blow the game open for the POWER.
Ino Patron put an exclamation point on the night with a towering, three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to give the POWER (33-8) their 14th run of the ballgame.
Palm Springs will host the Seals in the third and final game of the weekend series tomorrow night at 7:05.
