On Wednesday, the SCCBL announced that Jake Howeth has been named the Player of the Month for June.
Howeth, who is considered by many to be the POWER’s best hitter, posted a .409 batting average while crushing 12 doubles and four triples. Furthermore, he knocked in 23 runs, had a .712 slugging percentage and .481 on-base percentage. Howeth also had four steals for good measure. The Texas Wesleyan leads the POWER in five offensive stats and is in the top three in other various catagories.
The outfielder is the second player to win some hardware this season in the SCCBL. Starter Hayden Rogers earned Pitcher of the Week for the week of 6/16-6/22.
