PALM SPRINGS, CA – Connor Klein (Western Nevada) doubled home two runs with two outs in the sixth inning to lead the POWER (13-1, 2-1) to a 4-3 comeback victory over the Inland Valley Buccaneers (3-8, 2-5) on Tuesday.
Jesse Bristow (CSU Pueblo) picked up his second win in relief throwing 3 2/3 scoreless innings and striking out five.
Danny Edgeworth (Mercer) reached base safely three times including a double, a run scored and a stolen base.
Palm Springs started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning after a leadoff double by Scotty Burcham (Sacramento State) was cashed in on an error by Inland Valley shortstop Kevin Riley.
The Buccaneers took the lead in the fourth with three runs off of POWER starter Bill Olson, including an RBI single by Miles Ryan.
But the lead was short lived, as the POWER responded with three unanswered runs over the next two frames to go ahead for good.
These two teams go back at it tomorrow night as Hayden Rogers (BYU) takes the mound for Palm Springs. Wednesday is Dollar Admission night where anybody gets into the ballgame for just one buck. Gates open at 6:30 with first pitch at 7:05.
