PALM SPRINGS, CA – Four Palm Springs POWER (35-6) pitchers combined to one-hit the Nor-Cal Longhorns in a 10-0 victory at Palm Springs Stadium on Saturday night.
In addition to the stellar performance on the mound, the POWER bats came alive for 17 hits in the shutout.
Led by Anthony Torres who was a perfect 4-for-4 on the night with two RBIs, five POWER hitters had two or more hits. Center fielder Tyler Surnbrock was 3-for-4, including a triple and his first home run of the summer.
First baseman Ryan Jones also had a big day at the plate with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Gabriel Asakura (1-1) came on in the fourth and pitched three innings in relief to pick up his first win of the season. The POWER pitching staff has allowed just seven runs in their last nine games.
Palm Springs is back in action tomorrow night when they host the East LA Dodgers at 7:05 p.m. at Palm Springs Stadium.
