Palm Springs, Calif. – The Palm Springs Power completed a two-game series against the Alameda Anchors by twirling their best pitching performance of the season. Five pitchers combined for the first shutout of the season in an 11-0 Power victory, improving their overall record to 19-3.

The headliners for the Power pitching staff was starter Jimi Welsher, who went three shutout innings with only 2 hits, followed by Caleb Ortiz, who threw three perfect innings. Relievers Noah Smith, Quinn Stewart, and Joe Godoy each pitched in an inning of work, with the Anchors not able to get a baserunner past second base.

The Power got a hit from every single bat in their order, with the offensive onslaught starting early with 10 runs in the first three frames. RJ Holmes had the big highlight to start with a two-run home run in a 4-run 1st inning. After two runs in the second from the Power, the offense would strike with yet another 4 spot headlined by Holmes’ second multi-RBI hit of the night on a two-run double.

The Power are back at it Friday night with a matchup against the California Rush, seeking to extend their win streak to seven. Friday’s first pitch will be at 7:00 PM PST with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
