Palm Springs, Calif. – The Palm Springs Power hosted the Alameda Anchors Tuesday night at Palm Springs Stadium for game one of two in a midweek series. The Power took game one by a final score of 16-3 to improve their overall record to 18-3.
Tyler Crawford started on the mound delivering six quality innings only allowing three runs to receive the win. All three of those runs came in the third inning. The first two batters reached. A sacrifice bunt by Jett Guevara moved both to scoring position. Immediately Crawford allowed hits to the next three batters who each drove in a run.
Crawford put up three scoreless frames after that before the bullpen took over. Andrew Baltazar and Isaac Sanchez took the final three frames to close it out.
The Power had solid performances all over the lineup, but Owen Michaelson and Jayden Sanchez set the tone at the top of the lineup. Each of them recorded an RBI and scored twice in the first two innings. Sanchez ended the night 3-4 with two driven in and two runs scored.
Up next the Power will take on the Anchors again at Palm Springs Stadium on Wednesday before the fourth of July weekend at Palm Springs Stadium. Wednesday’s first pitch will be at 7pm with gates opening at 6pm. It will be Father-Daughter Date Night at the ballpark along with Wild Wednesday with discounted margaritas at the concessions stand.
