Palm Springs, Calif. – Palm Springs Power strolled into this game without missing a beat, taking down Santa Clarita Victory 17-3 on Tuesday night.
In addition to their win two new players came in, infielder Austin Haller and pitcher Brian Garcia made an impact from the get-go. Haller, starting second baseman, hit a triple in his first at-bat going 2-4 with two runs.
Power’s offense showed how deep their line up can be making opposing pitchers struggle. They were able to pile on seven runs in the second, the most in an inning for them tonight.In addition, every player that started was able to score.
Victory held Palm Springs scoreless for three innings which wasn’t enough to hold them back.
This offense put up 13 hits, 11 walks, and only struck out four times. On the other hand, Victory struggled against Power’s pitching staff, only putting up four hits and three runs.
Starting pitcher Angel Landazuri led the way with six innings pitched, eight strike outs, and one hit. Brian Garcia came out of the bullpen for the first time this summer pitching two innings, three strike outs, two hits, and two earned runs which came in the 8th inning. Tyrone Woods came out in the 9th inning, collecting three strike outs allowing one hit and one earned run.
The Power improved their record going 11-2 to stay on top. They’ll look forward to carrying this impeccable performance against the Colton Nighthawks Wednesday Night at 7 p.m. during $5 margarita night.
