Palm Springs, Calif. – Power pitching strikeout 15 Anchor batters and only allowing 2 hits to secure a 10-0 shutout victory against the Alameda Anchors. Four different pitchers were used by the Power with the assistance of a high powered offensive performance.
Angel Landazuri started the game with 6 innings pitched and striking out ten batters and only two hits allowed. The rest of the Power pitching staff then took over with a combined five strikeouts and zero hits allowed. Riley Ricken would make another appearance with Alex Hocking making his season debut in his return with the Power. Then Anthony Sanchez, who threw for an inning the previous night, would close out the game.
Bryant O’Neil once again was on a tear going for 3 hits and 3 RBIs with a run scored. Cato Kleinman took the lead bat for the power and started the game with a single before scoring in the same inning and also reaching on an error and another single in the 8th inning. He would also drive in a run and score a total of 3 runs himself. Jamal Ritter had another solid performance with a single and an RBI on a groundball. He also knocked a triple and attempted to go home on a bad relay from the outfield before getting taken down at the plate. Keedan Nadeau drove in a pair of runs with 3 times on base with a single, a fielder’s choice, and a forced error.
With the win tonight, Power are now 9-1 on the season and will face off against the Inland Valley Bucs in a two-game series June 13-14 in their second meeting of the season. Friday will also be Palm Springs City Night where residents will get free admission with a hot dog, chips, drink, and a collectible koozie. Then Saturday will be City of Rancho Mirage night where residents can get free admission with a power ticket and a souvenir tote bag, a good treat for Father’s day.
