Palm Springs, Calif. –  A season of come-from-behind victories concluded this evening in a way the Palm Springs Power have all season long, this time scoring six unanswered runs to erase a four-run deficit.  Palm Springs welcomed the San Diego Stars, who came ready to play following a Caden Richards game-tying home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. The tie was short-lived as the Stars plated four unanswered runs, grasping a five-to-one lead in the fourth inning.

With their backs against the wall, the Power turned to Andrew Landazuri and would escape a bases-loaded one-out jam, limiting the damage to two runs in the fourth. The Power offense would immediately respond after a Matt MeCate leadoff home run in the bottom half of the fourth. Another run would be added on in the fourth after a pair of errors by Stars’ defense.

Landazurii would deliver three more innings of shutout baseball to keep the Power in the ballgame, and eventually the bats broke through. The Power would get another run back in the 6th inning following a Juni Rodriguez base hit to cut the lead to one. It wasn’t until the 7th that the offense came alive, exploding for three runs on base hits from AJ Bianchina and Brett Williams. Both Land and the Stars in the 8th delivered a clean frame, and the Power entered the 9th with a two-run lead.

The Power turned to Israel Garcia in the 9th to earn the save in his Power Debut. Garcia would get the first two batters out with ease with a strikeout and a groundout. After back-to-back base hits, the go-ahead run stepped to the plate. In a high-leverage spot, Garcia was able to secure the final out, his first career save, and a Power win to complete his debut and the Power Regular season. Power improve to 28-4 on the season and now turn their attention to the Championship Series.

The Power are back in action tomorrow afternoon, with the beginning of the Championship Series between the #1 seed Power and #2 Seed Inland Valley Legends.
