Palm Springs, Calif. –  The Palm Springs Power hosted the Inland Valley Bucs for their third conference matchup on Tuesday. Three Power arms dazzled in a one-run performance to give Palm Springs the 6-1 win.

Tyler Crawford started for the Power and dominated. After the first batter of the game reached on an error, he allowed one hit before settling in. The righty fired five innings with just one unearned run and ten strikeouts.

After Casey Dill turned to the bullpen, it was the same story for Palm Springs. Dominant innings from Caleb Ortiz and Alex Oliver who continued to post zeroes on the scoreboard. Each arm fired two shutout innings to close out the game. Oliver had to escape multiple jams in the eighth and ninth. In the eighth, he loaded the bases and struck out the side without allowing a run. In the ninth, he allowed two hits but stranded both to end the game.

The Power bats couldn’t break through until the late innings. Colby Creamer and Joshua Carasco combined for five shutout innings. The Bucs turned to Aaron Cisneros who allowed a leadoff double to Caden Richards. With one out in a 1-0 game, Owen Michaelson hit a two run home run over the left field wall to take a 2-1 lead.

Up one in the eighth, the Power added insurance. Juni Rodriguez hit a three-run home run to extend the lead to four. One more run in the eighth put Palm Springs ahead 6-1 and they held on for their fourteenth win of the season.

Caleb Ortiz was credited with the win and Cisneros took the loss. The Power improved their CPCL record to 9-2 and took the Bucs down to 6-4. Up next the Power take on the California Halos for another conference matchup at 7pm. It’s Rotary night at the ballpark with gates opening at 6pm.
