Palm Springs, Calif. – The Palm Springs Power overwhelmed the Inland Valley Legends 7-1 on Friday night at Palm Springs Stadium, inching closer to a major franchise milestone.
With the win, the Power improved to 11-5 in California Premier Collegiate League play (21-5 overall) and now sits just one win shy of the program’s 700th victory in franchise history.
Andrew Rivas led the offensive charge, going 2-for-3 with a towering 385-foot home run, a double and two RBIs. His blast over the right-field wall in the sixth inning electrified the crowd and extended a Power lead that wasn’t threatened.
Greyson Gegg stayed red-hot, opening the scoring with an RBI double to left in the third inning, while Casey Kleinman turned in a stellar 3-for-4 performance with two runs scored.
The Power pitching staff was relentless. Starter Trevor Eby and relievers Richie Amavizca, Chapman Weber and Tyrone Woods combined to strike out 11 and held the Legends to just one run. Their efficiency and command suffocated the Inland Valley offense from start to finish.
The Power are back on the field Saturday at 7 p.m. for a rematch with Inland Valley, with a chance to complete the series sweep and secure a milestone victory. With one more win, Palm Springs will reach its 700th in franchise history. Fans are encouraged to be part of what promises to be a memorable night at Palm Springs Stadium.
Tomorrow night isn’t just another game. It’s a chance to be part of something special — to cheer, to celebrate, and to witness a milestone built by players, coaches, and fans alike.
