Palm Springs, Calif. –  Tonight was the final game of the regular season. The Power came out victorious, beating San Diego Stars 8-2.

Stars came out ready to play as they were able to score in the 1st inning. Although there wasn’t a hit recorded for them, San Diego kept putting the ball in play to score early.

Despite scoring first, Palm Springs came out swinging. The Power ended up with two of their own as well taking the lead.

Power starting pitcher Johnny Young started for the first time and went 5 innings, 2 strikeouts, 1 walk. Young along with the pitching staff tonight did great only allowing 2 runs on 3 hits.

With The Power striking out 10 times, that didn’t stop them from putting up runs with 5 coming in the 7th inning.

Andrew Rivas, who came in to pinch hit for Tyler Nelson in the 7th, led the way offensively going 2-2 with 3 RBI’s.

After tonight’s game The Power will be playing in the CPCL playoffs for their chance to win another Championship.

They’ll be playing the Inland Valley Pirates in a best out of 3 series. Game 1 will be on July 19th 5 p.m. at Citrus College. Game 2 on July 20th 5 p.m. here at Palm Springs and if necessary Game 3 is at 7 p.m.
