Palm Springs, Calif. – The Palm Springs Power won tonight 9-2, making it their second win against the San Diego Bombers. At first, it seemed like the Bombers were coming out swinging as they were able to score one in the first inning collecting two hits.
Despite the Bombers scoring in the first inning, Power was also on the same page and answered back with a run themselves. Myles Walton earned himself a walk, and KJ Moon hit a blistering double to tie it up in the first inning.
Through the first three innings, Bombers were able to get runners on while loading up bases in the second inning but they weren’t successful in bringing them in.
The Bombers did their absolute best to stop this Power’s offense by bringing in 5 bullpen pitchers.
Although, this wasn’t enough. Power continued to score as they were only scoreless in four innings.
Austin Haller, Mark Kirkland, and Casey Kleinman led the way offensively by having a multi-hit game. Haller had three singles while Kirkland and Kleinman with two apiece.
Starting pitcher for the Power, Angel Landazuri, had himself another fantastic pitching appearance. He went 5 innings, with 5 strikeouts, one earned run, and five hits. Prior to this game Landazuri was scoreless through 12 innings of work in his first two outings.
With this win, they are currently 15-3 and 5-3 in CPCL. They have a chance to improve their record in CPCL as they face the Inland Valley Pirates for a two-game set this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The Pirates are sitting in second place with a record of 5-2.
