Palm Springs, Calif. –  The Inland Valley Pirates were able to take both games on the road, making it the first time The Power have lost back-to-back games this season. The Power fell short with a final score of 5-4.

Throughout the game The Power were getting runners on and putting pressure on the opposing pitchers who came in. Despite them having long at-bats fouling pitches off, they still left 12 runners on base tonight.

On the bright side, Jamal Ritter showed off his speed while stealing second and home in the same inning. After tonight, he has a total of 21 stolen bases.

It certainly came close in the bottom of the 9th inning. The Power was able to walk the bases loaded but they only brought in one run along with a base hit.

Although the Power’s offense fell short tonight, their bullpen was stellar. They were able to hold back the Pirates to five straight scoreless innings.

Starting Pitcher AJ Moreno, relief pitcher Kenny Keller, and James Williams combined for 13 strikeouts.

Moreno was the only pitcher to give up multiple runs, he went 3 innings with four strikeouts, four runs while collecting four strikeouts.

With this heartbreaking loss, their overall record in the CPCL is 7-5 while the Pirates improve theirs to 7-3.

The Power have the chance to turn things around next Tuesday as they face the Colton Nighthawks at 7 p.m.
