Palm Springs, Calif. –  The Power’s bid for their 10th win of the 2025 season was delayed at least one more day after falling to the Inland Valley Buccaneers 8-7.

The Power began the game by slowly building a three-run lead with one run per inning. Trevor Eby was in line for the win until the Buccaneers tied the game in the fifth.

After a scoreless sixth inning, the bats came alive for both squads. Four runs by the Buccaneers and three runs by the Power in the seventh put both teams on high alert. Each team loaded the bases in the seventh. Mark Kirkland had himself a night, going 3-5 with two RBIs, including one in the seventh to cut their four-run deficit to one.

Each team made defensive swaps in the final three innings, looking to gain an edge. Myles Walton pinch hit for Christian Perez in the eighth, getting a hit and advancing to third to put the tying run ninety feet away. The surge was cut short on a flyout to centerfield.

A scoreless ninth inning gave the Bucs their first win against the Power. The Bucs put in two position players at pitcher. Brady Stull earned the win, and starting 2nd baseman Frank Brazil got the save.

The Power will take on the Bucs again tomorrow night at 7 PM. It will also be Rancho Mirage Night at Palm Springs Stadium Saturday Night with all Rancho Mirage residents and staff receiving free admission, a hot dog, a soda, a bag of chips, and a free tote bag.
