Palm Springs, Calif. –  Power dropped another tough CPCL game to the Inland Valley Pirates in game 1 of two for the weekend. The Power offense was held back by a good Pirate pitching lineup with the starting pitcher Landon Martin holding the line for five innings and only allowing a hit from Cato Kleinman down the third baseline. The Power had a chance to pull through in the bottom of the 8th with the bases loaded, but only able to drive in a single run of a balk from the Pirate’s relief pitching.

The power offense only was able to knock in four total hits with the only extra base hit via Austin Haller to the wall in right-center field. 11 total Power batters were retired by the Pirate’s pitching staff.

Naun Haro started on the mound for the Power in his first start since June 7 against the Inland Valley Legends. 3 runs came around the bases with 2 being earned for Haro with many soft contact ground ball singles being able to get by the Power infield. Both Trevor Eby and Chapman Weber would only allow a run in relief of Haro while retiring 4 batters on strikeouts.

The Power drop to 6-4 in CPCL play and will try to bounce into the win column tomorrow night as they take on the Pirates in game two and get a win at home.
