Escondido, Calif. – Aidan Taurek hit two home runs with six total hits and the Palm Springs Power swept a doubleheader against the San Diego Waves by scores of 8-1 and 12-4 on Monday afternoon at Escondido Field.

Anthony Sanchez (Viterbo) made his Power debut in the seventh and nailed down the final three outs with his first strikeout to secure a 12-4 Power win over the Waves.

Starting pitcher Brenton Thiels (Louisiana Tech) danced around early baserunners on his way to earning his team-leading sixth victory of the season. He hurled five innings of shutout baseball, scattering four hits and striking out six. Hudson Boncal (Ohio University) and Cale Mathison (The Master’s) followed suit, recording the final twelve outs, only allowing two baserunners.
