The Power’s hot streak continues to grow as they took out the Inland Valley Legends in a no-doubter victory, scoring 16 runs off 15 hits. There were doubles, a triple, multiple RBIs, and a lot of frose’s to go around on the first Frose Friday. It was all on the backs of player of the game Daulton Thomas, going 2-3 with a couple of RBI’s and base hits, and excellent pitching from Seth Mattox and the unstoppable bullpen. It was a long game, but an enjoyable one watching the Power feel like the unbeatable team that we have come to know in this season.
It all started with in the 1st inning as a few hits and a sac fly RBI by Michael Groves, scoring Kohl Abrams from 3rd base. Bryant Ball had a great game as well, starting off with a single in the 2nd inning, coming around to score, putting the Power up early 2-0. Things started getting out of hand quick as the Power rounded out a total of 11 runs, with almost everyone participating in the onslaught, including Jason Leon, Dom Hughes, and Dominic Popa. While the runs were piling on for the Power, Seth Mattox was throwing strikeout after strikeout, 8 in total, not letting the Legends come anywhere close to putting a run on the board. Before you knew, the Power had reached 16 runs in the game, all earned with no errors being committed on both sides. The final pop out to Kohl Abrams sealed the deal and the Power took home their 11th win of the season.
Next game will be Saturday, June 17th at Palm Springs Stadium as the Power and the Legends go at it again on kids’ day, where kids 12 and under will get in free. The Power will be going for their 12th win of the season while the Legends will try to get redemption for themselves. Game starts at 7:00 PM, with gates opening at 6:00 PM. The game will also be livestreamed on the Power’s YouTube, so be sure to come out to the ballpark or stream the game as the Power continue their undefeated season.
