PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Palm Springs Power completed their quest for a franchise record 18 straight wins with a 21-6 victory over the SoCal Sparrows. This surpasses the mark set by both the 2006 and 2017 teams. When team Manger, Casey Dill was asked about the record, he shared “It’s a huge accomplishment” later stating “The ultimate goal for our team is a championship”.
Kyle Johnson led the charge for the Power at the plate, going 3-5 with two singles, one double and two RBIs. Johnson also came around to score a run all three times he reached base. Matt Sosa also made an impact for the Power, recording two hits off of three at bats, including a triple in the bottom of the fifth inning. Overall, the Power recorded eight extra hits, with five doubles and three triples.
Justin Watland got the win on the bump for the Power as the pitching staff amassed 12 strikeouts on the night. Michael Sebby came in for his sixth appearance of the season to close out the Sparrows with two strikeouts.
The Power will be back in action of Friday to try and extend their win streak over the Inland Valley Bucs.
