PALM SPRINGS, CA — Morgan Earman (Arizona) tossed a complete game one-hit shutout Tuesday night as the POWER defeated the visiting Arroyo Seco Saints, 9-0.

“The plan was to minimize pitches and pound the strike zone,” said Earman. “We were working on the curveball. I just used the fastball and curveball to get batters out.”

Earman was dominant from the start and was backed by eight POWER runs after two innings. Jordan Zimmerman (Mesa) had a big two-run double in the first and Jake Howeth (Texas Wesleyan) provided the hit of the night with a two-run triple in the second.

“That just makes any pitcher’s day easier when guys are able to go out there and get runs. You can go out and do whatever you want,” said Earman.

After losing two straight lossses to Top Speed, the POWER (22-4) have bounced back the last two games scoring 20 total runs.

Palm Springs pounded out 12 hits en route to their victory. Jordan Zimmerman (Mesa) went 3-3 and drove in three runs while lead-off hitter Ryne Clark (Chico St.) had a pair of hits.

The POWER are back in action tomorrow evening as they host the FCA Catch at 7:05.
