PALM SPRINGS, CA —The POWER (21-4) got back on the winning track on Sunday, snapping a two-game skid with an 11-1 win over Team San Diego North (3-12) at Palm Springs Stadium.
Mitch Bluman (San Diego State) threw five innings, allowing just one unearned run on his way to his first victory of the season.
Nate Pollock (Western Illinois) provided the offensive for Palm Springs, going 3-for-4 with two extra-base hits, three runs and three RBIs.
Center fielder Ryne Clark (Chico State) chipped in with four hits of his own, finishing the night with three RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored.
“I think it’s been a long time coming,” said hitting coach Dale Legaspi after the win. “We had to change some things approach-wise and we really started to see some results with that tonight.”
Cam Margaris made his POWER debut in the sixth taking over for Bluman. The right-hander worked two innings allowing just one hit while striking out three.
Nick Medeiros (Santa Clara) closed the game out with two scoreless frames, striking out five batters in his fourth appearance.
The POWER are off on Monday before returning to the field to take on the Arroyo Seco Saints on Tuesday at 7:05 pm.
