PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The POWER’s late rally against the Orange County Waves fell short on Friday, as they dropped game two of the So Cal World Series, 4-3.
Kyle Lazcano was the winner for the Waves, throwing 6 1/3 innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out four. Keith Demorgandie earned the save for Orange County with a scoreless ninth inning.
T.J. Bennett and Reagan Fowler provided the offense for the POWER. Bennett was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Fowler went 1-for-5 and picked up an RBI as well.
Trailing 4-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, Palm Springs tried to launch a comeback. The POWER loaded the bases with one out and drew within a run on Bennett’s sacrifice fly. However, that was all the red-and-white were able to muster, as the effort came up short.
These two teams will meet in a decisive game three on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Remember, Saturday is Kids Day, meaning all fans 12 and under receive $2 admission to the game. Fans that cannot make it to the ballpark can catch all the action on pspbb.com.
