PALM SPRINGS – The POWER (6-0) dominated Riverside (0-5) from start to finish on Friday night, beating the Rebels, 27-3.
The POWER banged out 28 hits and pushed across 27 runs, which represents a new club record for a single game. They are now outscoring opponents 82-24 through six games.
T.J. Bennett led the way for Palm Springs, reaching base safely all seven times he came to the plate. Bennett went 5-5 with two RBI and five runs scored, and was just a home run short of the cycle.
Seven POWER hitters knocked in multiple runs in the game, including Tyler Truitt’s four RBI after entering as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning.
Ryan DeJesus started on the mound for Palm Springs, going five innings and striking out four to improve to 2-0 on the season. Blake Estep pitched four quality innings in relief, retiring the final ten Rebels he faced.
