DeJesus retired the first 17 men he faced before allowing a runner to reach base. He finished the game with 11 strikeouts while surrendering only two hits.
Bennett jump-started the POWER offense, going 3-4 with two RBI to help Palm Springs establish a three-run lead by the third inning. Newcomer Brett Sullivan then blew the contest wide-open with a two-run single as part of a four-run eighth inning.
The POWER and Nationals reconvene at Palm Springs Stadium on Saturday for the middle game of this weekend series, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
