PALM SPRINGS, CA – Todd Dunham hit a line-drive single to right field to bring home Tyler Surnbrock as the POWER (7-0) defeated the Diamond Valley Sabers 4-3 in 12 innings at Palm Springs Stadium on Saturday night.
Right-hander Edgar Gomez (2-0) threw five innings of shutout ball and added five strikeouts en route to the victory.
Anthony Torres paced the POWER offense going 3-for-5 with two triples and two runs scored.
Captain David Kiriakos chipped in with three hits and an RBI as the POWER improved to 1-0 in Southern California Collegiate Baseball League play.
The POWER are back in SCCBL action tomorrow as they take on the Long Beach Legends at 7:05 p.m.
