PALM SPRINGS, CA – Tying a season-high, the Palm Springs POWER scored 15 runs, as they led a sustained attack against the San Francisco Seals, beating them 15-1 at Palm Springs Stadium on Saturday night.

Casey McCarthy (SR, California State University, San Bernardino) earned his third win in as many starts, going six strong innings. He surrendered only one run on four hits, while striking out six and walking three batters. Scott Simmons (JR, Mt. San Jacinto College) and Ryan Santhon (JR, California State University, Los Angeles) combined for three innings of perfect relief, retiring all nine batters they faced.

McCarthy held opponents to just one run on four hits

Nine different POWER players scored at least one run, and the POWER scored at least one run in every inning except the first. They took advantage of five hit batsmen and 12 walks issued by the Seals pitching staff. Marcus Romero (SR, Southern Utah University) and Hank Yates (JR, undecided) each scored three times. Alex DeLeon (JR, University of Kansas) collected his team-leading eighth double of the year. He also walked three times, which tied a single-game team record this season.
