Palm Springs POWER Baseball begins its 2010 season with a three-game series against the Casa Grande Cotton Kings on June 4, 5 and 6. Games will begin at 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00pm.
2009 SCCBA All-Star RHP Aaron Brooks returns for his 2nd season of action with the POWER. Brooks enjoyed a fine 2010 season at CSU-San Bernardino, going 6-0 with 71 strikeouts. He was voted to the 2nd team All-2010 NCAA ABCA/Rawlings West Region team for his performance during the season. The 2009 CCAA Freshman of the Year, Brooks is set to start Friday night.
The team is managed by first-year skipper and former Major League Baseball coach Tom Gamboa. Gamboa brings 36 years of MLB experience to the POWER, and looks to continue the championship-caliber performance in 2010 after the POWER’s league championship in 2009.
Mayor Steve Pougnet will throw out the first pitch at Friday’s opening game, with radio personality and local favorite Joey English singing the national anthem.
Saturday’s game will be sponsored by Desert Regional Medical Center and all Palm Springs Youth League athletes who wear their team jersey to the game will receive free admission. Additionally, ten percent of concession sales from this night will go back to support the Palm Springs Youth League.
On Sunday, celebrate your Pride at the Ballpark, while the Freedom Winds Band sings the national anthem and offer musical entertainment.
Starting at 6:00 p.m., $1 draft beers will be served until the first pitch is thrown each night. Tickets can be purchased for $7 per adult, $6 per senior or student.
Here are some friendly reminders if you plan on enjoying a POWER game this season at Palm Springs Stadium:
•Gates open at 6pm.
•No dogs inside the stadium, except on Bark in the Ballpark night.
•No outside food or drink within the ballpark. We do allow each person to bring one bottle of water inside, but we must ask you to finish any other drinks, snacks, or meals before entering the ballpark.You’re welcome to visit our fully-stocked concession stand before and during the game!

The Palm Springs POWER Baseball Club recruits elite collegiate players from around the country to come to Palm Springs and play baseball in the months of June and July. The POWER organization strives to provide affordable entertainment as well as quality baseball for the residents of the Coachella Valley.
