Thomas is in his first season in the desert for the POWER. He has fit in to a mid-week starter position with two starts and two wins with a 0.00 era. He’s only allowed three hits and has seven strikeouts in the nine innings he’s pitched. Thomas isn’t afraid to throw his fastball straight past a batter even in a hitter’s count. What makes him successful is his off-speed pitches companied with his high velocity fastballs sitting around 88-92 mph. The mental part of his game also makes him dangerous. He’s not one to get rattled off a hit or a walk. Growing up in Overland Park, KS, Thomas grew up a Kansas Jayhawks fan and is currently playing college ball for KU today. He also loves having his POWER/Jayhawk counterpart Brandon Macias in Palm Springs to pick him up defensively at shortstop.
