The Palm Springs POWER carried out a small measure of revenge Tuesday night, defeating the Inland Valley Pirates 8-3 at Palm Springs Stadium. The Pirates are the only team to defeat the POWER (13-1, 4-1) this season.

Inland Valley jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, capitalizing on a two-run double by Jorge Ortega.

POWER pitching would silence the Inland Valley lineup the rest of the evening, never facing more than five batters in an inning . Starter Kyle Crawford (4-0) earned the win after tossing six strong innings, surrendering three runs on six hits while striking out ten. Crawford has struck out a team high 35 in 26 innings this season.

Jackson McClelland and Mark Seyler combined to shutout the Pirates over the final three innings.

Palm Springs first lit up the scoreboard in the third inning, scoring a pair of unearned runs on a T.J. Bennett double to cut the margin to 3-2. The POWER took the lead for good in the next frame, scoring three times on hits by Brett Sullivan, Ryan Raslowsky, and Eric Urry.

Palm Springs tacked on three more runs in the fifth inning, with Sullivan chipping in a two-run double. The POWER shortstop finished the night with four hits and three runs scored.
