PALM SPRINGS, CA – Anthony Torres went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs including the game winner in the ninth inning as the Palm Springs POWER defeated the OC Pioneers 4-3 in walk-off fashion at Palm Springs Stadium on Wednesday night.

Starter Nick Baker went six innings and gave up one run, but it was Edgar Gomez who took the win throwing two shutout innings in relief.

The POWER trailed 1-0 early before hanging two runs on Pioneer starter George Thanopolous in the bottom of the second.

Palm Springs tacked on another run in the fifth before the Pioneers came storming back to tie the game with two runs of their own in the top of the eighth.

POWER Infielder Adam Law reached safely on the error by first-basemen Nico Darras. He would advance to second on a wild pitch before stealing third and coming home on Torres’ RBI single.

Palm Springs is back in action on Friday as they take on the OC Waves with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
