PALM SPRINGS, CA—The POWER (11-1, 1-1) throttled the visiting OC Blue Sharks (4-2, 4-1) on Saturday night 17-2 at Palm Springs Stadium.

Right-hander Morgan Earman (Arizona) went five innings, giving up just run on three hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Earman now goes to 2-0 on the season.

Tanner Kiest (Chaffey) relieved Earman pitching two innings giving up one run on no hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Austin Lord (Mercer) came in for the last two innings and retired all six batters he faced while striking out four.

Outfielder Jake Howeth (Texas-Wesleyan) continued his torrid pace at the plate going 4-5 with five RBI.

“I really wanted to bounce back because I didn’t really have a good game a couple nights ago, so I just got to the park a little earlier and spent some more time in the cages. It is baseball, so everyday is a new day and if you have a bad day you can always come back and have a good day tomorrow,” Howeth said after the game.

Palm Springs native Nick King (Georgia) also went 4-for-5 with two runs scored.

The POWER scored early and often in this game as they scored four runs in the first inning. They followed that with three more in the second inning and plated five in the fourth inning.

The POWER play again tomorrow night at Palm Springs Stadium against the So Cal Halos, first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm. Tomorrow is also Environmentally Friendly Night and the first 200 fans will receive a free re-usable POWER tote bag. In addition to that, it is also Father’s Day tomorrow, so all fathers and sons attending the game will be allowed to play catch on the field from 6:30-6:45 pm.
