EASTLAKE, CA — The POWER jumped out to an early 1-0 lead before falling to Team San Diego, 5-2, in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon at Barona Field.

Anthony Lombardo led the way on offense, coming up with two base hits and an RBI for a POWER lineup that struggled most of the game.

Kyle Crawford pitched seven innings for the red-and-white, but gave up four runs in his first two innings of work, including three in the bottom of the second.

Ryan Jones went 2-for-3, including a home run and what would turn out to be the game-winning single in the ninth inning, to propel the POWER to a 5-4 victory over Team San Diego in game two of their doubleheader.

Mark Lukowski picked up his third win of the season, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out two, while Pete Reyes notched his third save with a zero in the ninth.

Matt Lowenstein had an impressive debut starting in centerfield and batting cleanup, as he went 1-for-2 with three walks and an RBI.

The POWER return to Palm Springs tomorrow to take on Riverside Rebels in game one of their final SCCBL series of the year.

Friday is Dollar Beer Night at Palm Springs Stadium where you can get $1-drafts of Bud and Bud Light. Gates open at 6pm with first pitch coming at 7:05pm.
