PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – On a hot Friday evening at Palm Springs Stadium, the POWER offense scored twelve times to back up another strong performance from Harris-Stowe State senior Jordan Dreibelbis. The POWER defeated the Inland Valley Bucs 12-1 in game one of this three-game weekend series.

Jordan Dreibelbis was called upon to start in his third game of the season and worked very quickly through seven innings of work, his third straight start going seven innings. Dreibelbis only gave up one run in the second inning while racking up eight strikeouts, as he was very effective with his pitch sequences, not getting himself into many deep counts.

“They (the Bucs) didn’t like my off-speed pitches and after being able to command my curveball and slider it really caused them fits,” Dreibelbis said, following his third straight win.

The usual suspects came up big in this one for the POWER, as Taylor Grace (Michigan State) continued his torrid hit-streak going 3-for-5 with four runs batted in and came up a triple shy of the cycle. John Mauldin (University of New Orleans) and Cody Ducote (University of New Orleans) each drove in a run while going a combined 6-for-10 at the plate.

The POWER advanced to 10-1 overall on the season and stay atop the SCCBL standings at 5-1. They will play game two of this three-game set tomorrow evening at 7:05, be sure to get tickets as it’s Kids’ Day brought to you by Desert Air! All kids 12 and under get in for just two dollars!
