Palm Springs, CA – The battle between the top ranked teams in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball Association went to the Palm Springs POWER at Palm Springs Stadium.  The win improved the POWER to 23-1 and 14-0 in conference play.  The POWER win was another shut-out with the final score being 4-0.

POWER starter Kayvon Bahramzadeh went six innings to pick up his first win of the season.  On the night Bahramzadeh had six strikeouts while only allowing four hits and no runs.  Bryan Dalton came in during the seventh inning and didn’t allow a run.  POWER reliever Kesley Kondo pitched the eighth with one strikeout, and didn’t allow a runner to reach base.  Gabe Aguilar came in to finish the shut-out for the POWER.

The first two runs for the POWER came in the bottom of the first inning.  Brett Christopher and Chett Zeise both had singles that led to Marcus Romero grounding out but scoring Christopher.  Later in the inning Keenyn Walker had a two-out RBI single that scored Chris Wilson.  In the seventh inning Brandon Macias doubled and then scored off of an error.  Ben Woodchick scored on a pass ball later in the inning after reaching base on the error.

The POWER return to action Wednesday night against the O.C. Pioneers at Palm Springs Stadium where it will be Senior Night.  Senior Citizens will get in for a discounted admission of $5 on the night.  First-pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM and the gates open up at 6:00 PM.
