PALM SPRINGS, Calif – The Palm Springs POWER crushed the second place San Diego Force by a final score of 20-2, extending their lead in the SCCBL.

POWER starter Jacob Rebar (University Of Utah) only threw four innings, but struck out nine and gave up just one hit.  Zack Novis (St. Mary’s College) relieved him and tossed two innings, striking out two and also giving up just one hit to earn the win.  In total, five POWER pitchers struck out nineteen Force batters and gave up seven hits.

On offense, the POWER would send sixteen different batters to the plate, eleven of them racking up hits.  Justin Wylie (San Diego State) went 4-6 with a double, a home run, four RBIs, and one run scored.  Taylor Grace (Michigan State) went 3-4 with a double, a triple, a home run, four RBIs, and three runs scored.  Skyler Hunter (Purdue) went 3-5 with one RBI and three runs scored.  Tyler Pritchard (USC) went 2-2 off the bench with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored.  In total, the POWER offense would accumulate twenty hits.

After a day off on Thursday, the POWER will host the Arroyo Seco Sentinels for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday.  Don’t forget about Kids’ Day Saturdays, brought to you by Desert Air.  All kids 12 and under get in for just $2.
