PALM SPRINGS, CA — Palm Springs POWER starting pitcher Matt Anderson was named the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Week on Friday after throwing his second-straight complete-game shutout in as many weeks.

Anderson takes home consecutive honors after throwing nine innings of six-hit ball while striking out 13 batters against the Long Beach Legends on Tuesday.

The POWER right-hander is 4-1 on the season with a 1.50 ERA in eight appearances.

He is tops on the club with a .150 batting average against and also leads the team in strikeouts with 56.

The Claremont, Calif. native began his college career at Chaffey College before transferring to Long Beach State prior to the 2012 season.
