Leadoff hitter Darrin Willis (University of New Orleans) led off the night for the POWER offense, singling and scoring the opening run for the POWER. He would go on to score three more times for the POWER as they trounced the Thousand Oaks Gold Sox 15-3 on Wednesday night.

Willis paced the Power offense all night, going 4-6 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored. Willis showed off his speed all night, stealing a base and scoring from second base on multiple occasions.

Jack Carberry (Western Illinois) got the start for the POWER, following Alex Strizak’s (Point Loma Nazarene) quality outing with one of his own to get the win (3-0). The big righty hurled six innings in his third start for the POWER, striking out nine and walking none.

Spencer Weston (San Diego State) delivered in back-to-back big innings for the POWER, smacking two RBI-doubles in the fourth and fifth innings. The POWER batted around for the second night in a row in the fourth, collecting 7 runs on 6 hits.

Travis Weston (San Diego State) tossed two perfect innings in the seventh and the eighth before handing off the ball to Darin May in the final frame. May struck out 3 and has now gone his first 6.1 innings of the summer without giving up a hit.
